1 John 3:16–18
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
The 15th of August in the year of our Lord 2026
Love cannot remain an abstract sentiment; it must be dragged directly into the physical world of schedules, budgets, and personal convenience. Compassion that costs nothing is merely sentimentality; compassion that disrupts your comfort is Christlike.
Jesus embodied love through concrete, costly movement. He touched the sick, shared meals with outcasts, permitted His schedule to be shattered, spent His physical energy, and ultimately poured out His life.
Examine where your love has remained strictly theoretical—where you feel warm compassion or intend kindness, yet take no actual action. The world does not need more people who merely feel sympathy; it urgently needs those who embody it.
Let your faith take on physical form. Translate your good intentions into visible, embodied action.

Where is Christ prompting you to move compassion from an internal feeling into a tangible action this week?
