1 John 3:19–22
This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.

Your heart is a terrible final authority on your identity. It exaggerates failures, replays mistakes, and weaponised guilt until you become convinced you are beyond grace or transformation.
When self-condemnation rages, remember this truth: God is greater than our hearts. He knows everything—including your weaknesses, your hidden desires for holiness, and the full extent of His mercy over you. His verdict over your life is grace, not condemnation.
Do not treat internal accusations as absolute truth. When self-criticism shrinks your courage, silences your prayers, or tells you that you are fundamentally broken, confront those narratives with the unshakeable word of God.
Distinguish between shame that crushes and Holy Spirit conviction that heals. Trust God’s declaration over your own internal commentary.
