Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
We shouldn’t worry about the past or the future, just live today to its utmost. To live without regret, to learn from our mistakes but not dwell on them. And to not worry about tomorrow cos it might not come.
We can be saved to the utmost is one of the legacy “alls” of John Wesley. Living today to its utmost could in the secular world involve buying the best of everything, living big. But missing out on the abundance, generosity, love, mercy and grace of God.
And yet when I talk about living lightly, people move away. They don’t want to be uncomfortable. They want to hold on tightly to assets.
So I journey on a different path, simple living. And I live in joy. I am in the same family as Jesus, why would I not join him in this mission of mending the earth, to justice, to peace.
