Shame encountered

 Painful reality
Isolating raw nerves
Self-sabotaging track
Keep a moat of distance
Another stone in the castle wall
 
I just wanna be like you guys
I wanna blend in
I wanna be the same
But yet again – that’s not the deal
 
It has taken me years to work through
How unique I have been made
And each day I learn new ways
of how peculiarly and particular
 
I met a guy today, so hurt
I wanted to reach out and be
Exposed and vulnerable to help
him rid his overwhelming shame
