Ruth 4:17 

A child is born, and everything changes. Obed arrives without fanfare, yet his birth is the turning point of the whole story. Naomi, who once said she came home empty, now holds new life in her arms. Ruth, who left everything familiar, receives a future she could never have imagined. Boaz, who acted with honour, becomes part of God’s unfolding plan.

Loss, courage, kindness, waiting and redemption all meet in this one child. The women of Bethlehem recognise it immediately, blessing Naomi and celebrating God’s goodness. New life often comes quietly like this  not erasing the past, but redeeming it.

  A gentle practice for today:   Hold one place in your life where you long for new life, and offer it to God with quiet trust.  Lord, bring restoration where I need it most.
