Tried or tired

Woman relaxing by a fireplace as the sun sets over distant mountains

there’s a guy I know who talks in spoonerisms. just spoonerisms

And so you have to listen carefully to what he says.

For me I have three and all three came up in the last week or so.

I say par cark when I am under pressure instead of car park

I cannot say Domino correctly – it comes out Donimo

But I say it with confidence hoping others will understand

The other one goes back to when we lived in the Mill owner’s house

He had a Drawing room, I always call it the Draw Ring Room.

the latter two not exactly spoonerisms – but you get my drift

I mix up words that then tell a different tale.

A true spoonerism would be:

Drain bamage for brain damage

or

Shake a tower for take a shower

I know another guy who just makes everything into a pun

Insight and Incite come to mind.

Today I feel like I have tried my best and now I am tired.

Not simply I need a rest tired

But I need a complete break

So I work on a Sunday pm so I can take two hours off later in the week

Oh to be filled with the knowledge of the Lord

Isaiah 11:9

They will neither harm nor destroy
    on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.
