Sept  5  Orpah’s Choice

Sign pointing to home, Cove Farm, and wilderness trailhead beside a rural farm road

  Ruth 1:11 -14

Orpah chooses to return home. Her decision is often overshadowed by Ruth’s, but Scripture honours her  she weeps, kisses Naomi, and goes. Her choice is not a failure; it is a realistic response to a hard situation.

Orpah reminds us that not every path is ours to take. Sometimes the brave thing is to release what we cannot carry. Sometimes the faithful thing is choosing the road that fits our capacity. God sees the choices made in tears. What do you need to release this month  what’s too heavy, or simply not yours to hold?

A gentle practice for today:   Name one thing you may need to release.  Lord, help me let go of what is not mine to carry.
