The God Who Guards You

1 John 5:18–20

We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

You do not walk through this world unprotected; you are actively held, guarded, and kept by Christ Himself. This is not a promise of an easy, pain-free life, but a guarantee of ultimate spiritual security.

Your identity is not at risk, your faith is not fragile, and your transformation is not in danger. Jesus guards what matters most—your soul, your calling, and your eternal standing in Him.

Stop living as though you are vulnerable to every passing fear, cultural pressure, or spiritual threat. When circumstances feel chaotic or overwhelming, rest deeply in the unshakeable protection of the Son of God.

The people who live most freely are those who rest in being held.

⇥ Reflection & Response

Where do you need to stop living defensively and rest in the truth that Christ is actively guarding your life?
