1 1 John 5:9–12
We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony by faith. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Human opinion stands in sharp contrast to God’s unshakeable declaration. In a world saturated with competing claims, spiritual noise, and shifting cultural narratives, it is dangerously easy to weigh feelings against reality and convenience against truth.
If we routinely accept human testimony, how much more must we rely on God’s? His testimony is not an abstract theory—it is a Person and a present reality: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
Eternal life is not merely a future destination; it is a present quality of existence. It means living anchored, held, and sustained right now through proximity to Christ.
Yet we often live as though God’s declaration were conditional—allowing fluctuating emotions to dictate our spiritual security, temporary stumbles to overwrite divine promises, and self-doubt to overrule Scripture. Genuine assurance depends not on the strength of your feelings, but on the trustworthiness of the One who spoke.
Rest on the solid ground of what God has declared true over your life.
