The Love That Reorders Everything

Books on virtues including faithfulness, gentleness, goodness, joy, kindness, love, patience, peace, and self-control

1 John 4:13–16

This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

Love is not sustained by emotional momentum; it is sustained by divine presence. You cannot consistently love like Jesus if you fail to abide at the Source of love.

Jesus remained steadily anchored in the Father’s love through physical exhaustion, intense conflict, public misunderstanding, betrayal, and immense suffering. His love never fractured because His connection to the Father was unshakeable.

Abiding reorders everything. It systematically reshapes your priorities, desires, split-second reactions, relationships, habits, and underlying identity. Real love is not something you fabricate through effort; it is something you receive in quiet communion and then release into the world.

Prioritise presence over performance, and surrender over self-sufficiency.

What area of your life is currently out of order because you have been trying to produce love through effort rather than abiding in Him?
