Tuesday marked the beginning of the leadership conference, and I walked into the first session carrying more weight than I realized. But as the worship began and the message unfolded, I felt the Holy Spirit meet me in a way that was both gentle and unmistakably powerful. It wasn’t loud or overwhelming — it was a steady, quiet filling, like God was restoring parts of me that had been stretched thin. I sensed Him calling me back to a place of authenticity, reminding me that true leadership begins with integrity before it ever becomes influence.
By the time Wednesday’s second session started, something in me was different. Instead of feeling eager to take in more teaching, I felt a deep yearning — almost a pull — to be alone with God. It wasn’t disinterest; it was invitation. I knew the Holy Spirit was drawing me away from the noise and into a place of stillness. So I slipped out quietly and went back to my room, choosing solitude over activity.
That extended time alone became the real session for me. In the quiet, I felt God reminding me that He values who I am becoming far more than what I am doing. He spoke to the parts of me that long to lead with authenticity, to walk in integrity when no one is watching, and to remain steadfast even when the pace of life tries to pull me in every direction. I sensed Him calling me to a deeper consistency — a life anchored in His presence, not in performance.
Those hours alone with Him felt like a recalibration. A returning. A quiet but firm reminder that leadership rooted in the Spirit is leadership that lasts. I left that room not with more notes, but with a renewed heart. And that is what I needed most.
