There’s a story from yesterday that should be told but it is a story for the whole week. I shall speak of it today because it is about privilege and undeserved grace.
I arrived at the hotel and they were having trouble scanning my passport. This led to a lengthy translated explanation and it transpired I was the only guest.
The only guest.
So of course I am thinking about the extensive buffet breakfast that is usually on offer and I suggest I just go elsewhere for meals because … well …
I don’t deserve it. No one does. A hotel is not a one person apartment, it’s a building for more than one.
A hotel just for me
Breakfast just for me
The pool just for me
All amenities just for me.
What a story of enjoying grace extended where none is due or expected.
Day two: exceeds expectations
What a Saviour
