decayed

11 TheLordwill continually guide you and satisfy you even in sun-baked places. He will strengthen your bones. You will become like a watered garden and like a spring whose water does not stop flowing. 12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the foundations of past generations. You will be called the Rebuilder of Broken Walls and the Restorer of Streets Where People Live.

Isaiah 58:11-12 (GW)

When you feel like a tatty, broken, old wreck of a house, fix your eyes on The Builder, He doesn’t only restore us he remakes us, into something shiny and new, a new creation living for God’s glory.

It is easy to say. Is it as easy to do?

Yes, all we have to do is ask the Lord into our lives. He is there with us while the broken windows and torn curtains of our lives take precedence. He sits with us, cradling us while we sit in that pit of despair, unable to move, let alone find a way out.

When we are strengthened by His love, by His warm embrace, he lifts us up and out of the well and places us on the solid rock, a firm foundation of faith deeply rooted in the love He has freely given.

O Lord, help us keep fixed on you, when things go wrong we are so quick to be self-reliant and self-sufficient, we do the exact opposite of what we should do. O Lord, help us remember that with you all things are possible, pits can be filled in, never to be seen again, relationships can be restored be it between parent and child or between spouses, or friends. O Lord in you our hope is found alone, in you, we are strengthened, in you, in your arms, we can rest, become revived, restored and remade. Thank you Lord for all the changes you have made in my life and continue to make, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Amen
